Introduction
The Oxford Exchange is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all participants. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour that we expect from all students, faculty, staff, and visitors associated with The Oxford Exchange.
By participating in any Oxford Exchange programme or activity, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the programme without refund.
Academic Integrity
All participants are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity. This includes:
- Submitting only your own original work for assessment.
- Properly citing all sources used in your work.
- Not engaging in plagiarism, cheating, or any other form of academic dishonesty.
- Not assisting others in engaging in academic dishonesty.
- Respecting the intellectual property rights of others.
Respect and Inclusion
The Oxford Exchange is committed to creating an inclusive and respectful learning environment. All participants are expected to:
- Treat all members of the Oxford Exchange community with respect and dignity.
- Refrain from engaging in any form of discrimination, harassment, or bullying.
- Respect the diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences of other participants.
- Use inclusive language and avoid language that is offensive or discriminatory.
- Report any instances of discrimination, harassment, or bullying to the Oxford Exchange management.
Conduct in College
Participants are guests of the Oxford college in which they are residing and studying. As such, they are expected to:
- Respect the rules and regulations of the college.
- Treat college staff, facilities, and property with respect.
- Maintain a reasonable level of noise and not disturb other college residents.
- Not bring unauthorised guests into the college.
- Not consume alcohol in public areas of the college unless at a designated college event.
- Not engage in any behaviour that could bring the college or The Oxford Exchange into disrepute.
Health and Safety
The Oxford Exchange is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all participants. All participants are expected to:
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and instructions provided by The Oxford Exchange and the college.
- Report any health and safety concerns to The Oxford Exchange management immediately.
- Not engage in any behaviour that could endanger themselves or others.
- Not consume illegal drugs or misuse legal substances.
- Consume alcohol responsibly and in accordance with UK law.
Social Media and Photography
Participants are welcome to share their Oxford Exchange experience on social media, subject to the following guidelines:
- Always obtain the consent of other participants before photographing or filming them.
- Do not share any content that could be considered offensive, discriminatory, or defamatory.
- Do not share any content that could compromise the privacy or security of other participants.
- Do not share any confidential information about The Oxford Exchange or its programmes.
- Always represent The Oxford Exchange in a positive and professional manner.
Disciplinary Procedures
Any participant who is found to have breached this Code of Conduct may be subject to disciplinary action. Depending on the severity of the breach, this may include:
- A verbal or written warning.
- Removal from a specific activity or event.
- Removal from the programme without refund.
- Referral to the relevant authorities.
